A civilization is a complex human society, usually made up of different cities, with certain characteristics of cultural and technological development. In many parts of the world, early civilizations formed when people began coming together in urban settlements. In this blog, we will be discussing Egyptian civilization.


Egyptian civilization started around 3100 BC and it developed along the Nile River in Large part because rich soil for growing crops was ensured by the river's annual flooding. Egyptian rulers used the idea of divine kingship and constructed monumental architecture to demonstrate and maintain power.

Ancient Egyptians developed wide-reaching trade networks along the Nile, in the Red Sea, and in the Near East. Hieroglyphics was the writing system used back then by the Egyptians for keeping records.

The importance of agricultural production and other economic resources was witnessed with the repeated struggles.

The civilization of Ancient Egypt is widely acclaimed and honored for the stupendous achievements in a great range of fields, including art and architecture, engineering, medicine, and statecraft.

The architecture in the Egyptian Era showcases their belief in life after death and the veneration of gods. The two important types of Egyptian architecture are pyramids and temples as both were built to honor significant figures in Egypt.

Due to the lack of wood, ancient Egyptian building materials were mostly sun-baked mud bricks, sandstones, limestones, and granites in considerable quantity. Ancient Egyptian architecture is mainly based on the religious context with massive structures and thick sloping walls with few openings, possibly echoing was treated as a method of construction used to obtain stability in mud walls. Exterior and interior walls, as well as the columns and piers, were covered with hieroglyphic and pictorial frescoes and carvings painted in brilliant colors. Aging back to the period of civilization, the primary motive of the architecture in the region was to serve the construction both as grave sites and for their names to last forever.

A number of names were used for Egypt in ancient times. A popular ancient name for Egypt was "Kemet," which means the "black land."

The whole concept of civilization had always been strongly connected with other parts of the world, bringing in and exporting goods, religions, food, people, and ideas. Surprisingly at times, ancient Egypt ruled territory outside the modern-day country's border, controlling territory in what is now Sudan, Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, and Palestine.
