In 1998 two young dutch passionate computer programmers fascinated over 3d computer graphics created Lumion, the rendering software. As years passed by Lumion started to grow in all terms from upgrading versions to extra plugins and even effects to make the render more realistic and appealing. Lumion integrates into any design process, it’s an activity that emboldens your craft and inspires your vision.

Lumion breathes life into rendering, making the process simple and enjoyable from the moment you import your model until you render out a beautiful image, video, or even a 360-degree panorama. In this blog, we will be discussing the different effects present in Lumion and how they are useful while rendering.


Effects are available within the software and it is used to enhance the quality and beautify the image of the render you have created. It is obvious that an architect needs to convince the client and no clients are easily persuaded. Beauty is one of the major factors these people tend to look at in the rough draft.

Effects can be added by clicking on the add effect option (FX) and these are almost like filters. This work by the principle of adding elements (like sun, fog, plants, etc) into your render in the desired proportion and dimension.
