Rhino 7 Beta Features

Rhinoceros is a commercial 3D computer graphics and computer-aided design (CAD) application software developed by Robert McNeel & Associates, an American, privately held, and employee-owned company founded in 1980.

The head associates of Rhinoceros claim that Rhino 7 is the biggest ever update in their history and the launching of Rhino 7 with the aid of McNeel's whisper campaign has created a shaking impact in the industry.

In this blog, we will be discussing the Rhino 7 beta features:

Rhino 7 is the most significant update in its history. And by adding Grasshopper they have had innumerable new features, improvements, and optimizations in addition to their new working modes with other applications.

Alterations have been made in Rhino 7 from start to end.

Following are the new features in Rhino 7.

1. SubD

SubD can be explained as a new geometry type that can create editable and accurate shapes. It also combines free-form accuracy to explore organic shapes at a fast pace along with the ability to edit quickly.

2. Package Manager

Package manager has been included in Rhino 7 thus making it easy to access and add plugins. And for the developer, the package manager simplifies the publication and distribution process.

3. Grasshopper Player

This feature helps in converting GH definitions into Rhino commands.

4. Clash Detection

This new feature helps the user find out where the objects are occupying the same space.

5. QuadRemesh

This feature enables the user to create the quad mesh quickly from existing solids, surfaces, meshes, or SubDs ideal for rendering, animation, and reverse engineering.

6. Presentation

Rhino 7's presentation tools are upgraded and improved. Rhino render engine has been enhanced for a smooth workflow by adding support for PBR ( Physically based rendering) and apart from that to aid the user's work presentation, features like Emissive materials, Light Falloff, LayerBook, Gradient, and Transparent Patches are also included.

7. Display

To keep up with the modern graphics, several refinements have been made to the display mode for the smooth working and convincing vision of the project (documentation) with considerable high focus on graphically-rich illustration tools like transparency and gradient hatches.

8. Development Platform

This update has brought in great improvements in Rhino 7 with regard to McNeel's free SDK (Software development kits) with API refinements (995 new items), enhanced documentation, Rhino common, rhino 3dm Libraries, Rhino.inside technology and more.

9. Rhino.inside technology

This feature allows Rhino 7 and Grasshopper to function within Revit. Which in the end is integrating the best of both the popular tools into one workflow.

10. ArchiCAD and Rhino 7

As per the new updated feature, ArchiCAD can be linked directly with Rhino 7 and Grasshopper. This also helps in bringing the best and maximum of Rhino to ArchiCAD and Revit through Grasshopper using the direct connection in real-time.

11. Enscape and Rhino 7

Enscape released a Rhino 7 compatible version with numerous options to upgrade in the new Enscape version of 2.9.1

12. Conveyer and Rhino 7

Conveyer, the geometry, and data management plugin has also updated for the user-friendly compatibility between Rhino and Revit software applications to run in Rhino 7.

Availability of Rhino 7

Rhino 7 is available for both Windows and Mac and they can download the evaluation version.

Evaluation version will work only for 90 days and after this tenure, plugins will be disabled till you purchase the pack. However, the evaluation version will continue to work without the plugins which can be made use for viewing the files and learn the working of the software.

Rhino 7 has itself undergone an extravagant makeover to stand out from the competitors and to provide the most stable and smooth working experience.

"One of the most important ingredients of being a Rhinoceros is your attitude. If you don't really want to be a Rhinoceros, you won't charge like one".
